Snore No More
We all snore at one time or another. From pollen-induced springtime allergies to the common cold, sometimes we just can’t get enough air when we’re trying to sleep. All snores are NOT created equal, though. Sometimes, snoring is a sign of a more concerning condition that can impact your health in unexpected ways. If you or a loved one have been known to snore on a regular basis, then this condition may already be affecting you. What is it and how can I help? Click here to take our simple quiz & learn more.
Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Obstructive sleep apnea, or OSA, occurs when your airway becomes blocked during sleep. During these apneic moments (which occur multiple times each night), you literally stop breathing for seconds at a time. Not only does this result in snoring, it can lead to:
- Waking with a sore throat or dry mouth
- Gasping for air during sleep
- Morning headaches
- Excessive daytime drowsiness
While those may seem like mere inconveniences, over time, OSA takes its toll on your body, making you more susceptible to:
- Heart disease
- Diabetes
- High blood pressure and stroke
- Accidents due to sleepiness
Our Sleep Quiz
The good news is that, if you are suffering from obstructive sleep apnea, it can be treated. While some people have success with CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) treatment, my patients generally prefer an oral appliance. With a customized oral appliance, you can finally enjoy the rest you so greatly need and deserve.
The first step to finding relief is to take our sleep quiz. This quiz will provide me with the information I need to determine if you have OSA and to what degree you suffer. With this knowledge, you and I can meet to discuss treatment and put you on the road to recovery.
Don’t waste one more night losing sleep; take our sleep apnea quiz and let me take it from there.
